Amy Smith
Amy Smith is starting her 7th year as a head cheer coach in Klein ISD. She transferred from Kleb Intermediate where she served as the head coach from 2018-2022. She has coached, trained, judged, and taught cheer for 24 years in the Houston area. She is a certified NCA judge, a USA-certified coach, and a UCA staff nominee. She is a former junior high and high school UCA All-American cheerleader and has 16 years of dance and tumbling experience. She is a 4-time UCA State Champion and 4-time UCA Regional Champion. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Coach Smith teaches Fashion Design I, Fashion Design II, and Fashion Design Practicum. She also volunteers her time helping many schools across Klein ISD and other districts with their cheer programs by offering stunt clinics, coaching assistance, and mentorships.
During the 2023-2024 school year, she took the first team in Klein ISD to the UIL State Spirit Competition and nominated the first cheerleader to be awarded Academic All-State and All-State Cheerleader by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
She is focused on building the Klein Collins Cheerleading program by developing driven athletes who are interested in furthering their cheerleading careers in college.
Coach Smith is married to her husband of 18 years and has three children Alex (25), Kali (22) and Gaven (21) who are huge supporters of the Klein Collins Cheer program.
